Our involvement with Hit So Hard started as a single-project job and snowballed into a full-scale branding campaign. It all started with the design of the one-sheet poster. We used our own original photography of Hole drummer Patty Schemel along with pictures from her private collection.
The producers (Todd Hughes and Christina Soletti) and director (P. David Ebersole) loved the poster’s title treatment and chose that aesthetic for the key art. From there, we began putting together title cards and interstitials that were edited
into the film.
Elements of all of the above were
incorporated into our design for pattydoc.com. Variations of the poster were configured for promotional use on postcards and social networking avatars. The title treatment even made its way on to promotional earplugs.
Hit So Hard made its world debut at South By Southwest and its New York debut at New Directors/New Films.
